Friday is finally here….Here is a little video to start your weekend off right

Congrats to Element team rider Nyjah Huston who took first place at yesterday’s Street League Seattle contest, kicking off the 2011 contest circuit. With a Backside 270 Noseblunt slide on his final attempt, Nyjah not only secured him first place but also the best trick in the contest scoring a 9.9, which to date is the best trick ever at a Street League contest, watch it on the element site – http://www.elementskateboards.com/

Plan B team rider Ryan Sheckler landed some of the best tricks the contest series has ever seen as well, including a 9.3 rated full cab kickflip in the final section. Fellow team rider Torey Pudwill was a fan favorite all weekend, qualifying first with unmatched consistency and technical tricks.

The Beachworks crew hit up the Billabong XXL Awards on Friday and were in fine form.  I have to say it is pretty incredible to watch where surfing has come. Just a few years ago people were hyped on getting towed into 57′ waves, and now you have guys like Shane Dorian paddling into them.  I heard Shane took a pretty solid beating on one of those.  Thankfully he was wearing that new wetsuit with the air/bladder.  That drop that Couto took was insane as well.  If in just a few years the sport has progressed this much, I cannot wait to see what we will be in-store for a few years from now.  Pretty classic that Tito Ortiz gave away the Verizon Wipeout award.  Can’t wait for the next party at the Grove.  always a good time.
